The water round the foreground rock here was too deep for my boots, and as I did not want to make the long walk back in wet boots, I kicked them off, rolled up the trousers and went paddling. I am happy to report that the water in the middle of December was not quite as cold as feared. However the razor sharp shale was rather less comfortable...
