Roche Rock

Ref: S1-2215
Little is known about the small chapel atop Roche Roch, apart that it dates back to the 13th century, and is dedicated to St Michael (its the top of a hill after all!) - but is a striking focal point for this fascinating area near St Austell in Cornwall. The rock itself comprises just two minerals - grey quatz and black tourmaline, and has a really interesting look and texture. The information panel is quite fun "Sometime in the future, geologists will agree not only what the rock is, but how it was formed. Maybe"
